Full Time Health Care

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Staff Nurse to join our client's busy Rehabilitation Ward team at their major health facility. Our client is situated on the beautiful Island of Guernsey, in the Channel Islands.

Please note; Guernsey has adopted the Agenda for Change banding system, but have applied their own salary scale, as above.
Combined with the lower income tax rate and no VAT this equates to a salary of over one band higher than the UK-equivalent Band - the current Guernsey Band 5 salary is up to £33,000

The island of Guernsey is in the Channel Islands and has a population of 65,000. It has some of Britain's finest and best-kept beaches, an especially mild and sunny climate, and an offbeat, historic harbor town in St. Peter's Port, the island's capital.

At the Rehabilitation Ward, patient groups include; stroke, Parkinson’s disease, balance and falls, post-orthopaedic and general surgery. Admissions to the ward may be from Surgical/Medical wards, the hospital's Day Assessment Unit or from the community.
The unit is a multi-disciplinary service which provides therapy and rehabilitation treatment. MD Team input is over 5 days (Monday – Friday) with nursing support continued throughout the week and weekends. All teams include qualified professionals with expertise in the field of rehabilitation.

Nurses aim to work with the clients and in partnership with other disciplines to help patients regain their independence – enabling them to adapt sufficiently to return home with confidence or to an appropriate placement in residential/nursing care.

Person requirements:
Registered Nurse with full registration with the NMC.
A minimum of six months' post-graduate experience in either a Medical, Surgical or Rehabilitation setting.

The benefits of working in Guernsey include:
- A higher-than-UK salary
- A £10,000 bonus scheme paid over four years; £1,000 at completion of one and three years service and £4,000 at two and four years.
- A flat rate 20% income tax.
- A relocation package and on-site Staff Accommodation or subsidised rental accommodation provided.
- A continental lifestyle, where the people are friendly, and crime is very low.
