Job Description

Principal Planner - £39.50 per hour - London

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Principal Planning Officer (Development Management) based in a Local Authority in London.

5 months duration

The main purpose of the role is as followings;

  • To be the lead Planning Officer for a defined area of the Borough to ensure a co-ordinated approach to planning, development and regeneration within that area
  • To assist the Area Delivery Leads or Major Applications Coordinator in the management of the team and undertaking work of a strategic nature
  • To lead and manage complex agreements including commissioning and clienting professional services and managing the risk to the council

Requirements:

- A degree in planning or other appropriate professional qualification and a member of the RTPI or eligible for or working toward full membership
- Knowledge and awareness of current issues and developments affecting planning, growth, urban regeneration and local government in London
- Experience dealing with big projects within London and public enquiries
