About Our Client:
Established in the early 90's, this is a local Main Contractor who undertake a variety of projects. From rail station upgrades to prime residential, from schools to listed buildings, they have expertise across many fields. Predominantly, work is within the education and transport sectors. With turnover closing in on £20m, this contractor employs just shy of 100 people and is growing. The founder is still the driving force behind the business and still shares the same drive and passion as he did on day one.
You will manage the commercial aspects of projects from initial procurement through to final accounts. You will work closely with other teams, mainly Operations, making sure projects are on track financially and assessing if savings can be made. Depending on project size, you may be managing multiple projects at one time. You may also work with more junior members of team, helping them progress and develop. This is a permanent role and will require candidates who have shown loyalty and progression.
You will be an establish Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor and have vast Main Contractor experience, ideally working with a variety of contract types. A mixture of project experience will add value but schools or higher education will be preferred.
The ideal candidate must have:
* Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor for a Main Contractor
* Experience working on projects sub £5,000,000
* Experience leading all commercial activities on projects from start to finish.
It is desirable to have:
* Worked on schools projects
* Further related education such as a Commercial Management degree
* MRICS status
