An excellent opportunity has arisen for a qualified Careers Adviser to join a brand new, dynamic, Careers & Employability team at HSDC.
The purpose of this role is to provide impartial, confidential and high quality IAG to all members of the College community and prospective learners, using drop-ins, pre-booked 1:1 interventions, group settings, planned events, telephone calls and emails.
We are looking to appoint a highly motivated self-starter who enjoys working with young people. One that can offer innovation to inspire and motivate. You will be vibrant, enthusiastic and dedicated to helping people explore opportunities and make decisions regarding education; employment; apprenticeship and training; progression routes and choices.
As part of this role it is important that the post holder is well organised, capable of working under pressure, able to meet deadlines, manage caseloads and their own time. You must be able to work independently to ensure the smooth day-to-day operations of the careers & employability services.
Ideally, you will have previous experience of working in FE and be able to relate to young people from diverse backgrounds, on an individual or group basis. Familiarity with both A Level and Vocational pathways is desirable.
The successful candidate should hold a relevant Level 6 qualification in Career Guidance and Development, equivalent or be working towards.
